Paper Title: Content Industry-the Leading Industry of the 21st century
Key words: content industry; leading industry
Abstract:
The so-called content industry refers to the information of the
market content and entertainment industry. Technological progress
has boosted the expansion and change of the content industry with
respect to supply and demand, thus consumers' demands for knowledge
and entertainment have undergone changes both in terms of quality
and quantity. The content has been digitalized, resulting in its
expansion by utilizing technology and the rapid growth of large-scale
enterprises. Content industry has undertaken a facelift thanks to
the combination of traditional content industry with new technology.
All these attest to the fact that technology progress underlies
the development of content industry and the market mechanism is
the prime mover of industry advance.
Where can the Chinese content industry go in the face of the increasingly
fierce competition of the world market? As cultural industry attracts
more and more capital due to its huge market potential and profits,
the government and the cultural industry are involved in capital
management. Also, it has becoming a fad among publishing, film,
TV and broadcasting sectors to set up large-scale enterprise groups.
Whether these actions are effective can only be proven by time.
What is unique about content industry is that it asks for content,
not material products. With information technology becoming more
popular, research must be done to find out how to realize the industrialization
of the content industry.
In developed countries, the combination of traditional media with
the new one has become the trend, and smooth media chain has been
realized owing to the help of technology. But the chain in China
will be restricted by the monopolized and closed market, out of
which the biggest obstacle is the market access for content industry.
